Throw Back Thursday! The Muses in New Orleans, LA

 

The developers behind The Muses envisioned the apartments as a bridge between the Lower Garden District and the transitional commercial corridor that has emerged on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard.

The $50 Muses Apartments opened in 2010 and is centrally located between Downtown and Uptown New Orleans, and one block off historic St. Charles Avenue.

“It’s ultimately the boulevard that we wanted to bring back,” said Kathy Laborde, president of Gulf Coast Housing Partnership, the nonprofit developing The Muses.

The Muses included 211 apartments in the first phase, roughly 65 percent of which will rent at market rates, with the remainder set aside as affordable housing. Phase II included 53 apartments and condos or townhouses available for sale.

Land for the project was assembled nearly a decade ago for an Albertson’s grocery store, a chain that has since pulled out of the New Orleans market. It was later bought by the developer Elie Khoury, who had planned after Hurricane Katrina to build high-end condominiums there. The property sat vacant as it changed hands. Gulf Coast and the nonprofit Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative together purchased the land and the two nonprofit groups worked in concert with a for-profit developer, LDG Development, based in Louisville, Ky. to create the new iconic property.

Villas at Colt Run Open for Occupants

The Villas at Colt Run in Houston, Texas were completed and open for residents on February 1, 2015. The many amenities of Colt Run include a pool, playground, business center and community area.

Weber Breaks Ground on Ben White Apartments in Austin Texas

This past Fall, Weber Group held a Ground Breaking for the Ben White apartments in Austin Texas, and construction has been underway ever since. The affordable housing complex will be a 433 unit neighborhood with Garden-style apartment homes for working families and also for residents 55 years of age and older. Weber Group and LDG Development Announce New Crosby, Texas Project

Weber Group and LDG Development Announce Construction of a New Multi-Family Apartment Community for Crosby, Texas

Construction will begin immediately on a $13.5 million project, Newport Village, located at 5925 FM 2100 in Crosby, Texas 77532. This new affordable housing apartment community will consist of 80 garden style one, two and three bedroom apartment units.

Weber Group is the design architect and build partner for these beautiful new apartment homes which have access to a furnished fitness center, business center equipped with computers and complimentary Wi-Fi, and a comfortable community room. Work has begun at Villas at Colt Run in Houston, Texas

Construction of Villas at Colt Run in Houston, Texas is now under construction. This multi-family development will bring brand new housing options to an under served area of Houston.  The family development with have a combination of 1,2, and 3 bedroom units, ranging in size from 850 square feet to 1,185 square feet. The on site amenities include a pool, playground, and a community room with a business center. Each unit will be equipped with high efficiency appliances, lighting, tank-less gas water heaters and pre-wired data wiring. Villas at Colt Run is expected to be complete late in 2014.

Breaking Ground in Texas – Paddock at Norwood

Weber Group, Inc. is the design architect and general contractor for the Paddock at Norwood in Austin, Texas, which broke ground in August.

The Paddock at Norwood is a 228-unit affordable apartment community scheduled to open in May 2014. The developer is Louisville based, LDG Development.

The Paddock at Norwood will feature beautiful one, two and three bedroom garden-style homes serving Texas families earning no more than 60% of the area’s median income. Deluxe amenities will include a furnished clubhouse, a business center with complimentary wi-fi, a state-of-the-art exercise facility and a lush outdoor setting complete with a gazebo, playground, picnic benches and permanent grills.

East Corbin School site to be transformed

The Weber Group is proud to be the builder of an exciting adaptive reuse project at the old East Corbin School in Eastern Kentucky. The project includes 32 units of multifamily housing. Together with architect Steve Kersey we will be working to bring this important structure back to life. Located in Appalachia, Corbin has a high unemployment rate and a number of abandoned structures. By transforming the school into this new affordable apartment building, 33 local jobs will be created and what had become an abandoned eye sore will become an important structure in Corbin.
