We are very excited to see the doors of the Michigan DNR Outdoor Adventure Center open to the public and pleased to be a part of such a beautiful project. Built in the rehabilitated historic Globe Building on Atwater near Milliken State Park and Harbor, the center includes a Weber sculpted rock formation with a 36-foot waterfall, a 40-foot Weber made tree in which kids can climb through the trunk, simulators of off-road vehicles, kayaks, canoes, snowmobiles and fishing boats, an indoor archery range, a 3,000-square-foot freshwater aquarium and other features. The public grand opening of the 41,000-square-foot facility is on Monday, July 20th. If you are in the Detroit area, go check out the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center!

This is a Quick Video Vignette of the Train Ride experience on the recently renovated, Daniel Tiger Train Ride at Idlewild Park in Pennsylvania. The ride was created by the iconic, American children’s show host, Mr. Rogers in the 70s.
After decades of fun-shared among millions of families, it was finally time for the ride to have a face-lift and an update. Weber Group designed & specialty fabricated the themed elements for Train Ride, while being mindful to maintain the charm & initial intent of the man who has become a wholesome, household name for several generations. State of the art, 2D animatronics were created by Life Formations to bring our favorite characters to Life. So, check out the new & improved Daniel Tiger Train ride, and Enjoy!
Here Be Dragons!
Weber Group will be installing a new traveling exhibit this week at the AZA accredited Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, IN entitled, Here Be Dragons. This interactive exhibition features live dragon reptiles in an exciting children’s museum style display including Medieval, Asian, and Archaeological environments. The exhibition will travel to Zoo’s and Museums throughout the U.S. (and even abroad!) over the next several years. The exhibition is organized by Build 4 Impact and was design/built by the Weber team. Enjoy a few “in production shots” of these unique environments.
Weber Group is installing the brand and theme overlay for the renovation of the Mr. Rogers Neighborhood Ride at Idlewild Park in Ligonier, PA. The Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Ride is inspired by the new Fred Rogers Company television show, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. The show finds Daniel Striped Tiger (from the famed Neighborhood of Make Believe) having new, animated adventures with his young nephew and namesake Daniel. The ride takes visitors on a real Trolley Ride through scenes familiar from the beloved show. Trolley stops at scenes such as Daniel Tiger’s Clock Tower where visitors are treated to audioanimatronic characters created by Lifeformations. Lady Elaine Fairchild’s Museum Go Round from the original Mr. Rogers Neighborhood show is now inhabited by a young explorer named Elena whose antics are just as legendary as Lady Elaine’s. King Friday the 13th’s Castle is unchanged as are X the Owl and Henrietta Pussycat’s Tree.
Weber Group is proud to work with Schell Games on this exciting project and with the Fred Rogers Company, one of America’s most beloved brands. Idlewild Park is one of the oldest amusement parks in the country (founded on May 1, 1978) and is located near Pittsburgh and minutes from Fred Rogers boyhood home in Latrobe, PA,. Idlewild Park came into existence when William Darlington, owner of the property, gave “the right and privilege to occupy his land for picnic purposes or pleasure grounds” to Judge Thomas Mellon, owner of the Ligonier Valley Railroad. The date was May 1, 1878. You can see the original train station on the property. Today, Idlewild & SoakZone Amusement Park is recognized as the Best Children’s Park by Amusement Today Magazine. The Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Ride opens May 24, 2015.
Camelback Mountain Resort’s new waterpark, Aquatopia, is coming together. Weber Group is finishing theming on the Lazy River, which loops & winds through Ancient Portals and Long-Lost Lands, taking guests on one the most relaxing adventures in the world.
A brand overlay can add loads of fun and hours of enjoyment to any project while also creating new and exciting revenue opportunities for properties. A visit to a branded facility makes every visit a special occasion. Meraas Holding, the owners of the Entertainment BlueWaters Zone, in Dubai understood that a splash park for families will bring more guests to the shopping center because they know kids will have something fun to do. Adding the world-phenom Angry Birds to the splash mix adds that much more fun while kids pretend to star in a live action version of the popular “Piglantis” game. Nearby stores can offer Angry Birds food and merchandise as well as branded items unique to the splash park itself, revenue generators that wouldn’t be available without a park nearby. Weber can work with any existing platform brand to digitally model 3D characters and environments and then create them in durable materials for indoor or outdoor play. Our architects and designers can integrate the brand into commercially available wet and dry play structures, rides, games, and other amusements for seamless, safe, fun. This exciting project was designed by Bruce D. Robinson Design Group and built and overlayed by Weber Group on Vortex Splashpad Equipment.
Meraas Holding’s Bluewaters is located off the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) coastline and features demarcated retail, residential, hospitality and entertainment zones.
Serving as the centrepiece of the island project, the 210-meter Ferris wheel offers breath-taking views of Dubai’s exotic coastline and iconic landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa. The piazza at the base of the wheel will serve as an entertainment zone and a unique venue for private parties, weddings and conferences. Additionally, a large LED screen mounted on the wheel will create an innovative electronic platform for broadcasting movies, advertisements, and interactive information.
The Angry Birds Splash Park is a wonderful linger-longer opportunity for guests to Bluewaters.
Bluewaters also features a bespoke ‘souq’ encircled by a promenade that boasts alfresco dining outlets serving a wide variety of cuisine. The ‘souq’ hosts an eclectic mix of retail stores and a ‘food hall’ offering fresh produce in a traditional ‘market’ atmosphere. Complementing the ambience, Bluewaters hosts a boutique five star hotel and varied residential options.
The project began in May of 2013 and is expected to open this year.
