Weber Group and Gallopalooza in the news
Date: June 18th, 2013
This month, Gallopalooza, a Louisville event that brings together local artists and local businesses, announced its 2014 project. Weber Group was mentioned in an article written by The Courier-Journal about Gallopalooza’s plans. In 2009 the Weber Group provided design and fabrication services for all Gallopalooza statue blanks. The blanks became artists canvasses for the civic pride event. There were over 200 Gallopalooza statues on Louisville streets and Weber artists embellished a small number of them, which were then donated for an auction to raise money for a highway beautification project for Metro Louisville’s Operation Brightside.

East Corbin School site to be transformed
Date: March 8th, 2013
The Weber Group is proud to be the builder of an exciting adaptive reuse project at the old East Corbin School in Eastern Kentucky. The project includes 32 units of multifamily housing. Together with architect Steve Kersey we will be working to bring this important structure back to life. Located in Appalachia, Corbin has a high unemployment rate and a number of abandoned structures. By transforming the school into this new affordable apartment building, 33 local jobs will be created and what had become an abandoned eye sore will become an important structure in Corbin. The Greater Corbin Housing Apartments are set to open in the spring of 2014. To learn more about this housing project click here.

A 50 foot Weber-created Megalodon shark found its home at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but not before making a splash on the news. As this giant prehistoric shark made it’s way to Florida, CBS Miami captured some footage of the shark traveling on the highway. The news story can be viewed here.
Designed by Roto Studio, the Weber Group worked with our friends at LifeFormations to create this giant prehistoric creature. The Prehistoric Florida exhibit, which is currently on display, allows visitors to experience Florida 65 million years ago. Visitors can learn about the effects of melting glaciers on sea levels and explore the flora, fauna and animals of prehistoric Florida. For more information about the exhibit click here.

Announcing the Ellis Pate Employee of the Year Award
Date: December 20th, 2012
Today marked the first annual Ellis Pate Employee of the Year Award. The Award, created to honor the Weber employee who most exemplifies the Weber work ethic, spirit, and abilities, was presented posthumously to longtime shop manager, Ellis Pate, who died of cancer this month. Jason Pate, Ellis’ son and a Weber Supervisor, accepted the award on behalf of his dad. The plaque will hang at Weber Group and the award will be presented at each year’s holiday lunch. Donny Weber remarked that as the 2nd generation of leaders takes the company into the 21st century, it is fitting to honor a founding employee’s legacy and contributions to the firm’s success. From Kentucky Kingdom to Great Wolf Lodges throughout the Country to Zoos, Museums, and parts in between, Ellis was there and got it done for the Weber Group. We miss him.Ellis Pate Employee Award
